The Signal preserves observed relationships rather than producing music. Frequencies map directly to chromatic distribution; amplitude follows structural density.
Listened to without expectation, the Signal reads as a slow oscillation between two registers — a sonic restatement of the work's tension between rigidity and openness.
Organized into a musical framework.
The Music layer takes the same underlying relationships and arranges them into a tempered framework: key, meter, and instrumentation derived from the Fingerprint.
The result favors restraint. Long sustained tones echo the painting's quiet center; intermittent percussive accents trace its angular edges.
A more interpretive reading.
The Soul layer is permitted greater latitude. It responds to the Fingerprint the way a musician might respond to a score they did not write — faithful to its structure, free in its phrasing.
Here, the response leans contemplative: ambient texture punctuated by short melodic gestures that recall the painting's recurring geometric motif.
